Job description

Facilities Technician

What this job involves:

Greasing the wheels of day-to-day operations

You will be involved in the overall upkeep of plant and facilities equipment to ensure smooth daily operations. To do this, you’ll need to regularly inspect all equipment rooms and other facilities, and take note of any problems using the predefined checklists. Also part of your responsibilities is to walk the duty technicians through weekend work plans, and give out technical recommendations, as needed.

Being the front line for maintenance needs

Our clients will come to you for equipment fixes, so you’ll be expected to be skilled in carrying out repairs. At the same time, you should always be ready to contact vendors to do maintenance work at a moment’s notice. On top of this, you’ll also have to speed up any required equipment moves, adds, and changes implementation. In every decision or action you take, you’ll need to keep in mind that you follow local governmental rules and regulations to avoid any legal troubles.

Other Accountabilities

  • Supervise electrical works as assigned.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, and maintain all M&E equipment.
  • Ensure all electrical fittings are in good working order.
  • Replace fused, fluorescent tubes, chokes, starters, fuses, etc., when needed.
  • Perform periodic preventive maintenance on all M&E equipment.
  • Attend promptly to all breakdowns.
  • Attend to complaints or feedback from tenants related to electrical works and coordinate with contractors to ensure rectification, keeping tenants informed of progress.
  • Assist in handing over and taking over tenanted premises, including follow-up on electrical works.
  • Inspect additions, alterations, and reinstatement works related to fitting out services in the building.
  • Maintain firefighting services, PA System, lighting, fire panels, etc.
  • Perform weekly inspections, withdraw job requests, and execute with client or authorized person approval.
  • Include repair, maintenance, and servicing of all equipment.
  • Assist FC and client representatives as needed outside the core job scope.
  • Be on 24-hour on-call standby for critical equipment related to systems listed below.

    Certified and experienced

    Are you certified to do electrical or mechanical repairs? Have you worked in facilities and maintenance roles before? If yes, then you are who we’re looking for!

    Good-natured and customer-oriented

    Can you clearly report issues and problems and provide clear instructions for repairs? Good communication skills—both written and spoken—are essential for this role.

    Other requirements

    • At least three years of experience in M&E works in facilities maintenance.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
    • Firefighting training and certification from the fire department are advantageous.
    • Willing to work on shifts, public holidays, and weekends.
