Job summary

A property management company in Malaysia is seeking a Safety and Security Manager. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in Environmental Science or similar, along with 3-5 years of experience in safety management. Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Science, or related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Preferably registered Safety & Health Officer with DOSH or Security Department.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in safety/security management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Safety Manager in implementing and controlling EHS management.
  • Organize and maintain a working organization of OSH committees.
  • Assist in developing safety framework and security policies.
  • Ensure Fire Prevention & Control systems are operational.
  • Conduct risk assessments on work environment design.
  • Prepare reports on safety & security incidents.
  • Liaison with local government on safety matters.
  • Conduct tenant inspections related to safety requirements.
  • Assist in planning safety department budgets.
  • Run Fire Drills in compliance with procedures.
Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Safety Manager in implementing, maintaining and controlling the Environment, Health and Safety Management in compliance with local regulatory requirements and SDP’s Security & Safety Policies, Procedures and Framework.
  • Organize and maintain a working organization of OSH committee, ERT, FRT and CMT in compliance with SDP’s Security & Safety Procedures and local authorities’ regulations.
  • Assist in developing safety framework and security policies, procedures and training development and promote awareness to all SDP’s staff, tenants’ staff, contractors and visitors to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure all Fire Prevention & Control, Life Safety and Security Systems are maintained and always in good operation as per SDP’s Security & Safety Procedures.
  • Analyze and provide risk assessment on work environment design and implement programs to control, eliminate and prevent injuries and environmental impact to the mall, occupants and environment.
  • Prepare, analyze and provide risk impact reports on all safety & security incidents — fatal, non-fatal and near miss.
  • Assist in liaising with local state & government authorities on all safety-related matters.
  • Liaison for insurance company for any incidents involving fire, property damage, public liability, consequential loss and other possible claims covered under BISB insurance policies.
  • Conduct regular tenant inspections in relation to Sec-Check, SDP, and local authority safety and security requirements.
  • Assist in planning CAPEX and OPEX Budget for the safety department.
  • Assist in planning and running Fire Drills in compliance with SDP’s Security & Safety Procedures.
Other Responsibilities
  • As and when required by the Management and any relevant Ad-Hoc / Admin Task.
  • Plan and execute tenant fit-out safety controls prior to renovation and perform pre-opening inspection safety checks post-renovation.
Requirements
  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science / Engineering, Chemical Science or Chemical Engineering, or any related field with minimum 3 years of experience. Preferably registered Safety & Health Officer with DOSH or Security Department.
