Job summary

A leading property development company in Malaysia is seeking an individual to oversee the execution and monitoring of policy and management systems related to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSSE) and Sustainability. You will ensure compliance and assist in risk management within projects. Ideal candidates have a relevant degree and at least 1 year of professional experience in HSSE and Sustainability. This role involves collaboration with vendors and support for management strategies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in HSSE and Sustainability or Operations or Project Management.
• Experience in Sustainability will be an added advantage.

Job description

Job Purpose

Responsible for execution and monitoring of policy, legal and management systems compliance, implement standards and guidelines relating to Health, Safety, and Environment (“HSSE”*) and Sustainability including providing support for risk management, project implementation and performance monitoring for the Business Unit.

*HSSE is a generic industry term that include security. This role exclude security, but we will adopt the generic term

Job Responsibilities

Business:

• Implement, enforce and monitor Sustainability and HSSE Management Systems and ensure the Business Unit comply to the requirements
• Assist the operations in closing gaps in Sustainability and HSSE Risks
• Ensure compliance with the HSSE requirements for contractor including the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and Safety and Health Management Plan (SHMP) through the consultant; and liaise with the consultant to ensure that the EMP & SHMP are current.
• Work with Group Safety and Sustainability, and operation team members to go beyond compliance with all Sustainability and HSSE regulations, and keep abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the Company
• Assist in accident / incident investigation including second level review (if any)
• Collaborate with vendors to replicate the SDP’s Leadership commitment in their respective projects
• Execute the operational strategy and support the businesses in implementation as endorsed by the Management at the Business Unit
• Execute the annual implementation plan of the businesses via individual functions of the operations. This will include among others capacity building, data coordination, audits, projects, engagements and compliance to management systems

Education/Professional Qualification

• Degree in Occupational Safety & Health / Environmental / Science / Social Sciences / Engineering or any relevant qualifications
• Qualification in Sustainability will be an added advantage

Professional Experience

• Minimum 1 year experience in HSSE and Sustainability or Operations or Project Management which has high HSSE element
• Experience in Sustainability will be an added advantage
