Job description

Location: Pasir Gudang, Johor

Employment: Fixed-Term Contract (12months)

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible in executing the sustainability related programs, activities, and target across the departments align with the company’s sustainability framework and MISC Group target. The executive is responsible for ensuring the organisation’s operations are environmentally compliant and aligned with sustainability goals. Monitor the development, implementation, and reporting of environmentally sustainable programs across the organization. The executive works cross-functionally to promote resource efficiency, carbon footprint reduction, circular economy practices, and green innovation, while also raising awareness and fostering a culture of sustainability at all organizational levels.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan and execute overall Environmental Management activities for the whole year strategically and coordinate with relevant units for the specific activity.
  • Monitor the implementation of green initiatives across the yard related to the sustainability framework and consolidate data annual sustainability reporting.
  • Oversee the management of in-house recycling collection hub (Trash-to-Cash) – including the facilities, records of transaction and housekeeping.
  • Coordinate meetings/discussions and follow up the status of each item discussed from relevant unit.
  • Coordinate and arrange continuous engagement sessions internally and externally to promote MMHE’s environmental initiatives to maintain continuous sustainability efforts.
  • Support bidding requisitions from project team and project’s HSE audit specifically on environmental operations and sustainability related matters.
  • Liaise with operation team for sustainability related matters, data consolidation and revision of standard use for GHG accounting.
  • Focal person in updating environmental data in MyQHSSE newly developed portal and publishing analytical report for the yard & interested parties.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in GHG accounting & management
  • Degree in Sustainability, GHG Management, Environmental Engineering/Science/Management, or related field
  • Understanding of Scope 1,2 and 3 in GHG management.
  • Experience with any sustainability related software for reporting
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and conduct training/awareness programs
  • Skilled in supporting monthly sustainability reporting (e.g writing statements, data analysis)
  • Capable of managing and executing internal and external environmental & sustainability programs to promote green initiatives.
  • Fully understand the Environmental Quality Act 1974 and its implementation.
  • Liaise with relevant authority for reporting, enforcement, and collaboration.
  • Certified Competent Person (preferably CEPSTPO/CEPEOEIA)
