Job summary

A leading logistics company is seeking an Accounts Payable specialist in Kuala Lumpur. Responsible for managing invoice bookings, coordinating timely payments, and resolving supplier disputes. The ideal candidate should possess a diploma or degree in accounting, with 2 to 4 years of experience in Accounts Payable functions, preferably within the shipping industry. Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia and strong communication skills are essential. This is an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team in a well-established company.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely payments and adhere to company SOP for invoice bookings.
  • Coordinate with SSC India for AP process compliance.
  • Handle supplier disputes and ad-hoc requests as required.
  • Review daily ageing reports for accuracy.
  • Oversee weekly payment schedules and coordinate with Treasury.
  • Process urgent payment requests promptly.
  • Liaise with MYSG terminals on AP-related matters.
  • Monitor monthly utility bills and corporate payments.
  • Approve staff claims in a timely manner.
  • Prepare analysis reports and support other departments.
  • Assist with ad-hoc tasks assigned by the manager.

Job Responsibilities

Ensure all trade and non-trade invoice bookings adhere to the company’s SOP, including timely payments and AP ledger housekeeping.

Work closely with SSC India to ensure all AP processes are carried out in accordance with company policies.

Assist SSC in handling supplier disputes, payments, or any ad‑hoc local requests when required.

Review the daily ageing report to ensure accuracy and timely follow‑up.

Oversee the weekly payment schedule prepared by SSC and coordinate with Treasury on manual reserves and fund allocations for weekly or ad‑hoc payments.

Raise urgent payment requests in the system when necessary.

Liaise closely with MYSG terminals and suppliers on any AP‑related matters.

Monitor monthly utility bills and corporate payments.

Process and approve staff claims in a timely manner.

Provide support to agency management and other departments such as Operations, Commercial, and Logistics when needed.

Prepare analysis reports and any other required reporting.

Assist in any ad‑hoc tasks assigned by the manager.

Job Requirements

Diploma/Degree in Accounting or Finance.

2 to 4 years of experience in Accounts Payable functions; experience in the shipping industry is an added advantage.

Strong proficiency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, with excellent communication skills.

Initiative, responsive, and proactive in completing tasks.

High level of integrity.

A good team player.

Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
