ERP Project Specialist (15-month contract)

MEASAT Satellite Systems – Sepang, Selangor

This position will be engaged under a 15-month consultant's contract for the professional services provided.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented ERP Project Specialist to work closely with the Project Manager for managing and overseeing the implementation of the company’s new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This role will be responsible for coordinating activities, managing resources, and ensuring the project stays on schedule and within budget.

The role will involve a wide range of activities, from data management and user acceptance testing (UAT) to financial process analysis and end-user support. The ideal candidate will need to have a solid understanding of financial processes, data handling and project management principles, with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.

Key Responsibilities
Data Cleansing and Migration

Work with internal stakeholders to identify, cleanse, and validate financial and operational data for migration to the new ERP system.

Develop and execute data migration plans, ensuring data integrity and accuracy throughout the process.

Perform data reconciliation and validation post‑migration to ensure all data is correctly transferred.

Identify and resolve data discrepancies and inconsistencies in source systems.

Assist in the documentation of data migration processes and procedures.

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Assist in the development of UAT test scripts and scenarios based on business requirements.

Execute UAT test cases, documenting results and tracking defects.

Collaborate with the project team and end‑users to troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during UAT.

Communicate test progress, results, and risks to Project Manager.

Provide support and guidance to end‑users participating in UAT.

System Integration and Configuration

Work closely with technical teams and consultants to ensure seamless integration of the new ERP system with existing platforms.

Assist in the configuration of ERP modules (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable) to align with business processes.

Participate in system testing to validate configurations and integrations.

Financial and Business Process Analysis

Collaborate with the finance department and other business units to document and analyse current financial and operational processes.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the new ERP framework.

Assist in the mapping of existing business processes to the new ERP system’s functionalities.

Training and Support

Assist in the creation of training materials, user manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Provide support to end‑users during and after the go‑live phase.

Assist in conducting training sessions for various departments on the new ERP system.

Project Administration

Maintain project documentation, including project plans, meeting minutes, and issue logs.

Track and report on project progress, risks, and dependencies.

Support Project Manager in day‑to‑day administrative tasks related to the ERP project.

Qualifications and Experience
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Experience

Minimum of 2‑3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within an ERP implementation project.

Proven experience in data cleansing, data migration, and UAT.

Solid understanding of core financial processes (e.g., GL, AP, AR, fixed assets).

Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Acumatica, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) is highly desirable.

Experience in the telecommunications or satellite industry is a plus.
