A leading recruitment agency in Kuala Lumpur seeks an ERP Support Specialist to maintain and enhance ERP system architecture. This role improves accuracy and efficiency for manufacturing processes and requires 2-3 years of ERP experience in manufacturing. Applicants should have a degree in IT or related fields, strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, and familiarity with basic scripting and relational databases. To maintain, and enhance the company’s ERP system architecture, ensuring accountability reliable inventory tracking while digitizing manual processes such as traceability, costing, and production reporting.
The role bridges IT systems and shop‑floor manufacturing operations to improve accuracy, efficiency, and data visibility.
System configuration, master data management, and user access control – data integrity, backup, and system stability.
Understand and document current ERP architecture, data flows, and integrations. Coordinate with ERP vendors, consultants, and support partners for upgrades, bug fixes, and enhancements.
Identify manual or spreadsheet‑based processes and convert them into ERP‑driven or systemized workflows, including material traceability (lot/batch tracking) and production reporting (output, scrap, downtime).
Work closely with Production, Planning, QA, and Finance teams to map real shop‑floor processes into the system.
Ensure accurate tracking of raw materials, regrind, WIP, and finished goods. Track lot numbers, production dates, machine usage, and material consumption.
Support Finance and Management in improving product costing accuracy, BOM and routing integrity, and labor and machine cost allocation.
Manage user roles, access rights, and data security. Handle system change control and documentation. Liaise with external IT providers on server, network, database, and cybersecurity matters. Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
Has authority to access the ERP system’s administrative functions required for support and daily operations (e.g., configuration screens/parameters within assigned modules), subject to company SOP and System Owner/IT/FN Manager oversight.
Has authority to create, disable, and maintain ERP user accounts, reset passwords, and assign roles/permissions based on an approved access matrix / request workflow, and to periodically review user access with Department Heads.
Has authority to maintain and correct selected ERP master data within delegated scope (e.g., item master attributes, BOM/routing/workflow reference data, production reporting codes), provided changes are documented and follow the required approval controls (especially for costing/finance‑impacting fields).
Has authority to investigate ERP issues end‑to‑end (transaction flow+data), access relevant production/inventory/costing data for troubleshooting (read‑only where applicable), and liaise directly with ERP vendors/support partners to log tickets, escalate incidents, and coordinate fixes.
Has authority to initiate and manage ERP change requests (CR) and improvements: gather requirements, document process flows, coordinate UAT with process owners, and deploy/configure approved changes; may schedule/announce maintenance activities with affected departments approval.
Diploma/Degree in Information Technology / Information Systems / Computer Science / Industrial Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
Minimum 2–3 years experience in ERP support/implementation in a manufacturing environment.
Good communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
IT knowledge & skills.
Good communication and management skills.
Basic scripting/automation (e.g., Python) is an advantage.
Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL.
Experience in manufacturing.
