Job description

The Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) is seeking a proactive and technically competent EOC cum Information Management (IM) Officer to support the operation of the Emergency Operation Centre (EOC). The role involves managing disaster-related information flows, supporting emergency coordination, data management, reporting, and operational support in collaboration with internal departments, government agencies and Red Cross Red Crescent Movement partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the setup and operation of the MRCS Emergency Operation Centre (EOC)
  • Collecting, managing, analyzing, and visualizing disaster-related data
  • Developing situation reports, dashboards, and information products for internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinating with government agencies, humanitarian partners, and MRCS State Chapters during emergencies
  • Supporting emergency preparedness and response activities nationwide
  • Supporting IM needs for donor-funded and collaborative projects
  • Providing technical and information support during DRR, emergency exercises, and response operations
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Management, Data Science, IT, GIS, Disaster Management, or related fields
  • Experience in information management, emergency coordination, or humanitarian operations is an advantage
  • Proficiency in data tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, GIS, Kobo, etc.) is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (Bahasa Malaysia & English)
  • Ability to work under pressure during emergency operations
  • Able to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
  • Willingness to be deployed or work irregular hours during crises (if required)
