A leading environmental management company in Gerik, Perak, is seeking an Environmental Management Trainee to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations. Responsibilities include monitoring site operations, conducting audits, and training staff. Candidates must hold a Diploma in Environmental Science and be proficient in Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Melayu. MCRE is a pioneering rare earth project located in Gerik, Perak. Our mission is to consolidate our position as a major REE mineral producer in Malaysia through the implementation of various industry‑best ethical practices that optimize mining efficiency while minimizing the environmental impact of our activities.
Monitor site operations to ensure compliance with environmental laws, DOE guidelines, and EIA/EMP requirements.
Implement and maintain the Environmental Management Plan (EMP), ensuring that mitigation measures prescribed in the EIA/EMP are effectively carried out, including maintaining good housekeeping practices on site.
Conduct regular site inspections, environmental audits, and monitoring activities (e.g., air, water, noise) in accordance with DOE requirements.
Advise site teams on waste management, pollution prevention, and resource conservation.
Act as the liaison for environmental management with relevant authorities, such as the Department of Environment (DOE), for inspections, permits, and reporting.
Prepare and submit environmental reports, including SPEIA, ESWIS, and other required submissions, to the Environmental Manager and DOE.
Organize and conduct training sessions for workers on environmental awareness and compliance to strengthen site-level understanding and adherence.
Candidate must possess at least Diploma in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety or a related field

Proficiency in Mandarin, English and Bahasa Melayu (reading, speaking, and writing) is required. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin‑speaking stakeholders
Excellent knowledge of relevant environmental, health and safety legislation and regulations
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify and mitigate risks
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with employees at all levels
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to drive continuous improvement
Proficient in using relevant software and technology for reporting and data analysis
