Meet the team

Under the direction of the Manager of Equipment Engineering, the Electromechanical Technician provides technical support to equipment engineers for the improvement, installation, validation and transfer of replicate custom automated equipment used in the scale-up of manufacturing for existing or new Dexcom products. These duties include supporting cross-functional equipment deployment teams while working with outside suppliers to meet equipment specifications and timelines.

Where you come in
  • You work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting functions.
  • You test the performance of electro-mechanical assemblies using test equipment.
  • You operate, test, and maintain robotic equipment and vision systems.
  • You analyze and record test results and prepare written documentation.
  • You perform operational tests and fault isolation on automated systems and equipment.
  • You have the ability to perform equipment activities in equipment development under the supervision of the project engineer, including assembly and testing of equipment, fixtures, processes, and/or electronics, and completing engineering studies and validations.
  • You follow Dexcom’s Safety and Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) program.
  • You assume and perform other duties as assigned.
  • You perform all assigned tasks with appropriate safety requirements.
  • You update equipment-related documentation (manuals, drawings, and specifications) as needed.
  • You use hand and power tools, multimeters, amp meters, manufacturer test equipment, and calipers.

  • You have a minimum of 4–8 years of related experience.
  • You have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications.
  • You have the ability to write routine reports, pass downs, and correspondence.
  • You can effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, engineers, and managers.
  • You possess knowledge of high-reliability, high-volume manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Your proficiency includes technical writing skills as applied to manufacturing documentation and process development, with experience in creating and revising technical documentation.
