A leading technology company is seeking a Product Data Management Change Coordinator in Penang, Malaysia. This key role involves managing part numbers, BOMs, and ensuring accurate data representation within ERP systems. Responsibilities include coordinating Engineering Change Orders and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement changes. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1-3 years of experience in Engineering data management, particularly in a medical equipment context.
The Product Data Management (PDM) Change Coordinator plays a fundamental role in managing part numbers, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and ensuring accurate data representation within ERP system. This position involves responsibility for setting up internal part numbers, maintaining part master data, updating SAP views, and overseeing changes to BOMs and their lifecycle. Collaborate with Engineering Change Managers and cross-functional teams to ensure that ERP data aligns with approved engineering changes and BOM revisions. Effectively communicate changes and updates to SAP views and BOMs to relevant stakeholders, ensuring clarity and understanding.
Coordinates Engineering Change Order (ECO) for product release of sales and production BOMs.
Assigns internal Part Numbers.
Loads basic material master views on ERP.
Loads product info, description & pricing on ERP.
Evaluate proposed changes for technical feasibility, impact on design, manufacturing, cost, and schedule. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information.
Engineering Change Order (ECO) Analyzation & Coordination of new BOM structure - set up System Data and Document Maintenance.
Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure seamless implementation of approved changes, updating BOMs and associated documentation.
Data and Document Integrity between Agile & SAP.
Works on process & system improvements to ensure accurate, consistent and compliant data and document management in Agile & SAP for ordering, manufacturing, distributing and supporting product & services throughout their life cycle.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications.
1-3 years of Engineering data management experience– preferably medical equipment manufacturing environment.
Previous experience in roles involving both Engineering change management, preferably in a complex manufacturing environment.
In-depth understanding of product design, manufacturing processes, BOM structures, and configuration management principles.
Proficiency in using relevant software tools, including PLM and ERP systems. Agile & SAP ECC experience, at least 2 years. High knowledge in Agile & SAP and a basic understanding of the boundary business processes.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving capabilities.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards pertinent to the industry.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing effectively.
Experience with change management methodologies and practices.
Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Ability to work across with different organizations with a wide variety of personalities, both internationally and cross-functionally.
