Job description
Integration & Development
  • Work on the Silicon Photonics process integration and development.
  • Involve in optical test characterization and analysis to enable process integration, yield debugging and development roadblocks.
  • Work on the tape out for customers' product chips tape out prior to mass production stage.
  • Participate in innovation activities, publication, patents submission and roadshow support to promote Silterra’s capability in Silicon Photonics process development and manufacturing excellence.
Technology & Process Development
  • Lead research and development of new life science technologies, including materials, microfluidics, bio-sensing, optics, consumables, or device architectures.
  • Design and execute experiments to validate proof‑of‑concept, optimize performance, and ensure robust manufacturability.
  • Develop and refine fabrication, assembly, or characterization processes aligned with product and research roadmaps.
  • Analyze technical data, identify root causes and propose innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Manage technical support to customers and coordinate on customer meetings.
  • Serve as technical lead for mid‑to‑large‑scale development projects.
  • Translate technical requirements into development plans, milestones, and resource needs.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams (R&D, manufacturing, QA/QC, supply chain, regulatory) to ensure project success.
  • Communicate technical status, risks, and solutions to the manager and stakeholders.
  • Work with manufacturing/operations teams to transition new technologies from prototype to pilot and production scale.
  • Develop documentation, SOPs, process windows, and control plans for technology transfer.
  • Support design for manufacturability (DFM) and ensure alignment with quality and compliance requirements in life science applications.
  • Stay current with advancements in life science technology, materials, instrumentation, and analytical methods.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance performance, improve reliability, and reduce cost.
  • Contribute to IP generation (patents, trade secrets) through novel technical solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the technology development pipeline.
Job Requirement
  • Involve in customer’s meetings and conference calls.
  • Be flexible in supporting customer’s tape out requests to resolve technical roadblocks.

Education required

PhD, master’s or bachelor’s degree from Silicon Photonics related field.
