Engineer/Senior Engineer, Electronic Design
Engineer/Senior Engineer, Electronic Design role is leading electronics design initiatives that turn visionary concepts into reliable, market-ready solutions. Spearhead the electronics hardware lifecycle from ideation to production, with a strong emphasis on circuit design and system integration, while applying knowledge of software and firmware algorithms to ensure optimal performance. Mentor and lead firmware engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage conceptual electronics design from initial idea to fully developed prototype: Lead the development of electronics concepts, create detailed schematics, circuit designs, and layouts using EDA tools, iterate on designs, and ensure integration with software/firmware algorithms and system requirements.
- Lead junior engineers in collaborative development: Mentor and guide team member(s), oversee firmware-hardware integration informed by algorithm knowledge, review code and designs, and resolve interface issues to achieve seamless product functionality.
- Drive prototyping and troubleshooting processes: Coordinate electronics prototyping, perform hands‑on debugging and troubleshooting of circuits, systems, and algorithm‑related performance, and optimize designs for reliability, efficiency, and manufacturability.
- Apply expertise in BLE, ESD, EMC/EMI compliance: Design and implement Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) modules, ensure ESD protection, conduct EMC/EMI testing and mitigation, and validate designs against regulatory standards, incorporating algorithm optimizations where applicable.
- Oversee PCB fabrication and PCBA processes: Manage the end‑to‑end PCB design, fabrication, and assembly processes, including layer stack‑up, component placement, signal integrity, and quality control to minimize defects and costs.
- Generate and manage Bill of Materials (BOM): Create comprehensive BOMs for electronics components, update based on design iterations, track costs, and optimize for supply‑chain efficiency.
- Support Joint Design Manufacturing (JDM) activities: Collaborate with JDM partners on electronics integrations, review manufacturing specifications, and provide technical oversight to align with project timelines and quality goals.
- Conduct Freedom to Operate (FTO) analyses to mitigate IP infringement risks: Perform thorough intellectual property assessments for new electronics designs, reviewing patents and other IP rights to ensure compliance and recommend modifications for unrestricted commercialization.
- Utilize Value Proposition Canvas to assess business potential of new design concepts: Implement the Value Proposition Canvas framework to systematically evaluate emerging electronics ideas, focusing on customer value, market alignment, and commercial viability to inform strategic decision‑making.
- Collaborate with external partners for innovative concept development: Engage with design houses, startups, research institutes, and other external entities to co‑create and integrate novel electronics concepts, fostering innovation through joint ideation, prototyping, and knowledge exchange.
