Job summary

A leading pharmaceutical company in Gelang Patah, Malaysia is looking for a Maintenance Technician to carry out preventive maintenance of electrical systems and respond to breakdowns promptly. The ideal candidate will possess 2–5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, hold a diploma or degree in engineering, and be familiar with PLCs and control systems. This role requires a commitment to safety and the ability to work in shifts. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, and control systems.
  • Ability to work safely with high-voltage equipment.

Job description

Carry out preventive maintenance of electrical panels, motors, lighting systems, and control circuits.

Respond to electrical breakdowns promptly and restore functionality with minimal downtime.

Assist in installation and wiring of new equipment, control panels, and electrical systems.

Interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams accurately.

Compliance & Documentation

Maintain records of electrical maintenance activities in SAP or CMMS as per cGMP requirements.

Ensure adherence to SOPs, safety protocols, and statutory regulations.

Calibration & Utility Support

Support calibration and maintenance of electrical instruments and utility systems (HVAC, compressors, boilers).

Monitor and maintain uninterrupted power supply for critical pharmaceutical operations.

Suggest improvements for energy efficiency and electrical system reliability.

Participate in root cause analysis for electrical failures and implement corrective actions.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and troubleshooting techniques.

Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, and control systems used in pharmaceutical plants.

Ability to work safely with high-voltage equipment and follow lockout/tagout procedures.

Personal Attributes

Attention to detail and commitment to safety and hygiene standards.

Ability to work in shifts and handle emergency situations.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Experience

2–5 years in pharmaceutical or biotech plant electrical maintenance.

Diploma or Degree in any engineering course.
