Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer to design and maintain electrical systems for power and oil & gas plants. Responsibilities include supervising site activities, conducting feasibility studies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate has strong field experience in E&I engineering and is proficient in CAD. Willingness to travel frequently across Malaysia is required.

Qualifications

• Proven field experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering.
• Expertise in testing and commissioning HV/LV equipment and substations.
• Familiarity with international standards such as NEC, IEC, ANSI, and IEEE.

Job description

Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer

Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical and instrumentation systems for power and oil & gas processing plants.

Conduct feasibility studies, system improvements, and ensure compliance with codes and standards as per client requirements.

Supervise site activities, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of HV/LV equipment and substations.

Prepare technical documentation, specifications, and cost estimates.

Collaborate with clients, vendors, and technical teams to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Requirements

Strong field experience in E&I engineering and maintenance.

Expertise in testing HV/LV equipment, protective relays, and control schemes.

Knowledge of international standards (NEC, IEC, ANSI, IEEE) and familiarity with DCS, PLC, Safety PLC, and related systems.

Proficiency in CAD and engineering software.

Willingness to travel frequently between sites across Malaysia.
