Electrical Facility Engineer / Technician
Responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of all electrical facilities, equipment, and systems in the plant/building. Ensure electrical infrastructure runs safely, reliably, and efficiently in compliance with statutory regulations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical System Maintenance
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for electrical facilities (HV, LV systems, transformers, switchgears, MCC, generators, UPS, etc.).
- Monitor power distribution, lighting systems, wiring, and control panels.
- Diagnose electrical faults and carry out corrective actions promptly.
- Support production and facility teams in resolving electrical issues.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, safety regulations (e.g., Suruhanjaya Tenaga / DOSH in Malaysia).
- Maintain safety procedures (LOTO, arc flash protection, PPE).
- Monitor power usage and recommend energy‑saving initiatives.
- Support sustainability programs by reducing energy consumption.
Project & Facility Support
- Assist in new electrical installations, upgrades, and commissioning.
- Work with contractors and vendors for facility-related projects.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain records of electrical equipment, inspection reports, and service logs.
- Prepare reports on downtime, maintenance activities, and improvement plans.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Chargeman certificate (e.g., A0, A1, BO, B4) is an advantage.
- 2–5 years’ working experience in facility/electrical maintenance (manufacturing/industrial environment preferred).
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, PLC basics, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings/schematics.
