Job description

Senior Developer - Dynamics 365 Business Central (APAC)

The position is for a German multinational company, the leading global manufacturer for sports stages, sports & recreational distribution facility, etc.

This is a fully remote / hybrid position.

Reports To: Project & IT Manager (APAC) – CFO Oversight

Lead all technical development, customization, and integration work for the rollout of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) across APAC entities. This role is pivotal in establishing our in-house BC Center of Excellence, ensuring technical independence from external vendors and building scalable, maintainable ERP solutions aligned with group strategy.

Key Responsibilities

A. System Development & Customization

• Design, develop, and deploy AL extensions, codeunits, pages, reports, and queries.
• Customize standard BC objects following best practices for upgrade-safe development.
• Implement approval workflows, document management, and automation using Power Automate.
• Develop new report layouts (RDLC / Word) and dashboards integrated with Power BI.

B. Environment & Release Management

• Configure and maintain DEV / TEST / PROD environments using Azure DevOps.
• Build CI/CD pipelines, manage source control (Git), and oversee release deployment.
• Coordinate environment refreshes, patches, and version upgrades with Global IT.

C. Data Migration & Integration

• Lead migration from SYSPRO → D365 BC: extract, transform, validate, and import master data.
• Develop reusable import templates (customers, vendors, items, BOM, GL, opening balances).
• Create and manage integrations with third-party systems (warehouse, CRM, banking).
• Implement secure API connections and data‑synchronization routines.

D. Support & Continuous Improvement

• Provide post‑go‑live technical support and bug‑fixing during hyper‑care.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot production issues.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain full technical documentation for CoE knowledge base.
• Identify improvement opportunities and recommend technical enhancements.

E. Collaboration & Training

• Partner with Functional Consultant to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Work with finance and supply‑chain stakeholders to test and validate new features.
• Mentor junior developers and share technical knowledge across the APAC team.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• At least 3 + years as Functional Consultant in D365 BC or NAV; hands‑on configuration of Finance and SCM modules; experience with multi‑company and multi‑currency setups.
• Strong understanding of Procure‑to‑Pay, Order‑to‑Cash, Inventory Management, and Manufacturing processes.
• Familiar with Excel Power Query, Power BI, and data migration tools (Configuration Packages / RapidStart Services).
• Strong communication and presentation skills; able to conduct training and stakeholder workshops; structured and detail‑oriented.
• Bachelor’s in Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, or equivalent.
• Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Business Central related certificate is an added advantage.

Successful Indicator

• Functional blueprint for the company approved and replicable for other entities.
• 100 % user adoption for core modules within three months of go‑live.
• Zero critical process failures post‑migration.
