Director, Global IT Operations & Infrastructure
We are seeking a strategic, visionary, and hands‑on Director, Global IT Operations & Infrastructure to lead and manage the core technology backbone supporting our worldwide manufacturing operations. This leader will oversee global factory data centers, Microsoft Office 365 and Azure cloud environments, enterprise networks, and end‑user support services.
The Director will be responsible for IT operations and infrastructure resources across all global factory sites, including those located outside Malaysia, ensuring consistent standards, service delivery, and security compliance across regions. This role will also collaborate closely with the ERP team to provide technical support and infrastructure integration for the Epicor ERP system across multiple sites.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for global IT infrastructure operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and digital transformation initiatives.
- Manage and support all factory data center operations, including servers, storage, backups, and disaster recovery planning across global sites.
- Oversee Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure, including identity management, networking, and security policy enforcement.
- Lead administration and performance management of the global network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, access points, VPN, and SD‑WAN configurations.
- Supervise and develop the global IT helpdesk and operations teams, ensuring consistent service delivery, adherence to SLAs, and continuous improvement across regions.
- Perform and oversee routine Office 365 administration tasks, including user account management, license allocation, email security, SharePoint/OneDrive, and Teams configuration.
- Develop, implement, and enforce global IT infrastructure standards, procedures, and cybersecurity policies.
- Collaborate with the ERP IT Manager to coordinate infrastructure‑level support for Epicor ERP, ensuring system reliability, performance, and global availability.
- Direct vendor management activities related to infrastructure, cloud, and managed services; negotiate contracts and ensure quality of service.
- Evaluate, recommend, and deploy emerging technologies to improve scalability, performance, and resilience.
- Create and manage IT operational budgets, forecasts, and global resource planning.
- Establish and monitor infrastructure performance metrics (KPIs) and regularly present operational reports to executive leadership.
- Ensure compliance with global IT security, data privacy, and regulatory requirements across all regions.
- Lead, mentor, and empower IT teams located in factories outside Malaysia, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional growth.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and operations, with at least 5 years in a management or leadership role.
- Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure, Cisco Meraki networking, and enterprise‑grade data centers.
- Strong understanding of ITIL practices, system monitoring, and helpdesk management.
- Familiarity with ERP systems support coordination, preferably Epicor.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing global or multi‑site teams.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Industry certifications such as Azure Administrator, CCNA/CCNP, or ITIL (preferred).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Primarily a desk‑based role with regular use of a computer, keyboard, and telephone.
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer or in meetings.
- Ability to walk through office and factory environments, which may involve exposure to moderate noise, dust, or temperature variations.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move IT equipment (e.g., laptops, network devices, servers) weighing up to 45 pounds.
- May require occasional travel between global sites, including factory locations.
- Must have sufficient visual acuity to read technical documents, monitor system dashboards, and inspect IT hardware.
