The Junior Unix System Administrator will be responsible for supporting platform engineering activities, focusing on Unix/Linux environments and middleware administration. The role involves installation, configuration, deployment, and management of enterprise applications across RHEL, JBoss, WebLogic, and MQ platforms. The engineer will ensure system stability, performance, and security while collaborating with senior administrators and developers to support enterprise-scale applications.
Install, configure, deploy, and manage enterprise applications using JBoss Application Server, IBM WebSphere Application Server, and Apache Tomcat.
Provide middleware administration support, specifically with JBoss EAP and Apache Tomcat.
Perform JVM tuning, WAR/EAR deployments, and troubleshoot Java EE application issues.
Administer Unix/Linux systems with a focus on RHEL.
Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation and operational efficiency.
Support basic networking tasks and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
Configure and maintain load balancing and reverse proxies (Apache HTTPD, NGINX).
Implement and manage firewall rules to ensure secure application environments.
Document operational procedures, deployments, and troubleshooting steps for compliance and audits.
Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux (RHEL) administration.
Hands‑on experience with JBoss EAP, WebLogic, and Apache Tomcat.
Proficiency in shell scripting for automation and system management.
Understanding of Java EE architecture, JVM tuning, and application deployments.
Familiarity with middleware administration and troubleshooting.
Basic networking knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with load balancing, reverse proxies (Apache HTTPD, NGINX), and firewall rules.
