Summary:

As a Desktop Support Specialist, you will provide technical support to our manufacturing and office employees, as well as VIPs. Your main responsibilities will include installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computer hardware and peripherals. Effective communication skills, both technical and non-technical, will be crucial in this role. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to recommend hardware and software solutions and supply to IT projects.

Crucial Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform the installation, configuration, and deployment of desktop systems, workstations, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and copiers to support and improve the end-user environment.
  • Provide timely support for daily IT incidents and service requests.
  • Maintain user accounts, data integrity, and file system security for the desktop environment, closely following company processes.
  • Recommend and implement hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades.
  • Ensure encryption, patching, virus protection, and backup of endpoints are completed detailed.
  • Tackle routine and sophisticated issues with end-user computer equipment and network connectivity.
  • Deliver end-user support in person, via chat, with remote support tools, and by telephone.
  • Support the service desk team with feedback and process improvements.
  • Act as a blocking issue point for incoming incidents, problems, or requests.
  • Communicate highly technical information effectively to both technical and nontechnical personnel.
  • Draft, review, improve, and approve documentation and Knowledge Base articles related to the configuration, maintenance, and fixing of desktop systems.
  • Demonstrate competence, initiative, follow-through, and good project management skills.
  • Adhere to Change Control Processes and Procedures.
  • Accurately record and communicate system failures, repairs, installations, or changes.
  • Ensure compliance with existing policies and procedures pertaining to Sarbanes-Oxley, FDA, HIPAA, and PCI regulations and standards.
  • Assume and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or a Diploma in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Demonstrable ability to collaborate effectively and nurture a positive work environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and protocols.
  • Familiarity with the ITIL framework and standard methodologies.
