We deliver turnkey industrial projects, particularly electronic manufacturing facilities and data centers. We are seeking a Manager (preferably with an Architectural background, though Civil & Structural professionals are also welcome) to lead design management, early construction planning, authority submission coordination, and vendor scope administration for fast‑paced, multidisciplinary projects.
You will manage an internal team of approximately five (5) members and report directly to the Design & Build Project Director.
Key Responsibilities
Design Management
- Translate client user requirements into functional layouts, concepts, and initial design proposals.
- Co‑develop designs with the internal construction management team and coordinate with C&S and M&E consultants, as well as outsourced M&E design‑and‑build specialists.
- Ensure proposed designs are constructible, cost‑effective, and meet functional requirements and basic aesthetic standards.
Early Construction Planning
- Prepare preliminary construction timelines and identify critical path milestones.
- Lead constructability reviews and proactively identify and resolve early‑stage design and construction risks or constraints.
Authority Submission & Approval Coordination
- Coordinate consultants and design‑and‑build contractors to prepare all required drawings and documentation.
- Manage authority submissions, inspections, and approvals, including CCC, to ensure timelines are met.
- Assign scopes of work to consultants and contractors, and review proposals or quotations for completeness and readiness.
- Work closely with internal Builders and Quantity Surveyor (QS) teams to align scope, cost, and schedule.
Communication & Documentation
- Maintain clear, proactive communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
- Ensure key decisions, deliverables, approvals, and dependencies are properly documented and tracked.
Requirements
- Background in Architecture is preferred; candidates with Civil & Structural background are also welcome.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp, with the ability to produce clear concept layouts and visual presentations.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for reporting, documentation, and presentations.
- Able to balance functionality, constructability, and cost-effectiveness during early design stages.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills; comfortable working with multiple stakeholders across disciplines.
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Mandarin, with the ability to present ideas clearly to diverse stakeholders.
Learning Mindset
- Knowledge of M&E concepts and construction contract administration is not mandatory at the initial stage.
