The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Deputy CEO) is responsible for providing overall leadership and strategic direction to the organisation, overseeing end-to-end business operations, and supporting the CEO in driving sustainable growth, operational excellence, and long-term value creation.
This role serves as the second-in-command to the CEO and acts as the CEO’s delegate when required. The Deputy CEO will lead cross-functional teams across manufacturing, operations, commercial, finance, and corporate functions, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Corporate Management
- Support the CEO and Board in formulating and executing the company’s overall corporate strategy and business plans.
- Translate strategic goals into actionable operational and financial plans across all business units.
- Act as a key decision-maker in driving growth, expansion, and operational transformation initiatives.
- Represent the organisation in strategic engagements with key stakeholders, partners, and regulators when required.
Overall Operations & Manufacturing Oversight
- Provide overall leadership and oversight of precast manufacturing operations, including production planning, capacity optimisation, quality control, safety, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure operational excellence across plants, logistics, supply chain, and project delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, margins, and operational resilience.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and ESG practices.
Commercial & Business Development
- Oversee sales, marketing, and business development strategies to strengthen market position and revenue growth.
- Support tendering, pricing, and contract negotiations for major projects.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, contractors, consultants, and government agencies.
Financial & Governance Oversight
- Work closely with Finance to oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and capital expenditure.
- Ensure strong corporate governance, internal controls, and risk management frameworks.
- Support the CEO in Board reporting, performance monitoring, and strategic reviews.
People & Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop senior management and key talent across the organisation.
- Foster a high-performance, accountable, and safety-driven culture.
- Ensure succession planning and leadership continuity across critical functions.
Key Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or related field.
- Master’s Degree (MBA or equivalent) is highly advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of senior leadership experience, preferably within the precast concrete, construction materials, manufacturing, or construction-related industries.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale operations and multi-functional teams.
- Experience overseeing full P&L and enterprise-wide operations.
