Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer with a strong background in software testing and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of hands‑on experience in manual and automated testing, API validation, and deployment across multiple environments. As a senior member of the QA team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products and mentoring junior QA engineers where necessary.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise databases (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Implement monitoring and alerting systems to detect unusual activity, including connection spikes, long-running queries, and deadlocks.
• Analyze and optimize slow queries, indexes, and stored procedures.
• Work closely with developers to review SQL queries, schema designs, and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and proactive health checks.
• Ensure database security, compliance, and access control policies are enforced.
• Implement and maintain backup, replication, clustering, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Troubleshoot complex database incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Develop scripts and automation to improve efficiency of routine DBA tasks.
• Mentor junior DBAs and contribute to team knowledge-sharing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 2-3 years of DBA experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• Expertise in at least one major RDBMS (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Proficiency in query tuning, indexing strategies, and database performance optimization.
• Experience in real-time monitoring, alerting, and incident response for database performance issues.
• Familiarity with cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Aurora, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or equivalent).
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Experience in high‑transaction, mission‑critical environments.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Proven leadership in mentoring and guiding technical teams.
