Qualifications

• Experience in developing policy and compliance training.

Company and Job Overview

A HK based insurance related company looking to expand their team in Malaysia and is looking for Group Data Protection Officer.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitoring compliance and data practices internally for the group to ensure the business and its functions comply with the applicable requirements under the applicable legislation and obligations of Dubai, European Union, HK, Singapore, USA.
• Working with key internal stakeholders in the review of projects and related data to ensure compliance with local data privacy laws and where necessary, complete and advise on privacy impact assessments.
• Responsible for staff training, data protection impact assessments and internal audits for all group entities with support from external Data Privacy vendor.
• Serve as the primary contact for supervisory authorities and individuals whose data is processed by the organisation.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Law or any other related field
• Data Protection and/or Privacy certification such as CIPP, CIPT, ISEB or relevant is preferred.
• Minimum 4 years within compliance, legal, audit and/or risk function
• Recent experience of data privacy in EU/ HK/ Singapore/ DIFC data privacy laws
• Experience in developing policy and compliance training
• Experience working in a Insurance or Finance industry is preferred
