Job summary

A leading technology firm in Malaysia is seeking an experienced specialist in data warehousing and ETL development. The successful candidate will design, develop, and optimize enterprise-level solutions, ensuring data integrity and providing technical leadership. Responsibilities include developing data models, collaborating with stakeholders, and mentoring junior team members. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience, proficient SQL skills, and knowledge of ETL tools like Pentaho. Malaysians with good command of Malay preferred.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in data warehousing, ETL development, and data analytics.
• Strong experience in data modeling (star schema, snowflake, normalization/denormalization).
• Proficient in writing complex SQL queries and performance tuning.
• Proven experience with ETL tools (Pentaho Data Integration is a plus).
• Strong knowledge of data warehouse architectures and methodologies.
• Experience with columnar databases like Vertica is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with SDLC processes, including active participation in BRS, SRS, and SDS documentation.
• Solid understanding of data governance, data quality, and metadata management.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• MALAYSIANS with good speaking knowledge of Malay will be preferred.

To design, develop, and optimize enterprise-level data warehousing solutions.

Design and implement robust ETL processes using industry-standard tools and frameworks.

Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business analytics.

Collaborate with stakeholders and BA to gather business requirements (BRS) and translate them into detailed SRS and SDS documentation.

Ensure data accuracy, integrity, consistency, and availability across platforms and applications.

Provide technical leadership in data architecture and modelling best practices.

Work with business analysts and data consumers to define and deliver actionable insights and reporting.

Drive performance tuning, capacity planning, and scalability enhancements for data warehousing infrastructure.

Utilize Pentaho for data integration workflows, and Vertica for high-performance analytical processing is an advantage.

Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance.
