A leading data center solutions provider in Malaysia is seeking an individual to manage and optimize its physical and virtual infrastructure. Responsibilities include deploying and maintaining servers, ensuring high operational performance, and managing day-to-day tasks. Fresh graduates may apply as training will be provided. Applicants should be willing to work rotating shifts and possess a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in IT. A Cisco CCNA certification is an advantage.

Job description

Responsible for maintaining and optimizing the physical and virtual infrastructure, physical environment of a data center

Job Responsibility
  • Set up, deploy, configure and maintain servers, storage systems, equipment, inventory and networking equipment.
  • Ensure high availability, performance and security of data center operations
  • Responsible on day-to-day operations, administration and task assignment of the department.
  • Responsible for the on-site management of COLO/Data Center clients, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with established practices and procedures
  • Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of the critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance
  • Server and equipment performance monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Responsible for the installation of the racks/server/network equipment and the provision of power
  • Management of the Data Center, in the provision of infrastructure & inventory asset management.
  • Opportunities to explore on data center networks setup and configuration.
  • Review client contract requirement on COLO/Data Center compliance & ensure all SLA’s are achieved
  • Delivery of exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
  • Responsible to travel different locations including oversea for equipment installation, troubleshooting and project management.
  • Responsible to troubleshooting hardware component issue.
  • Basic knowledge on server component and inventory such as Hard Disk, Ram, Processor and etc.
  • Basic knowledge on network structure and network component such as UTP cable, Fiber Optic and SFP
  • Willing to work on rotating shifts (Overnight shift allowance will be provided)
  • Cisco CCNA certified or any other related professional certification is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate technical information clearly.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
