About the Role

Taylor’s International School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Curriculum Support Teacher to join our team. This role plays a key part in our commitment to inclusive education — ensuring every student with additional needs receives the support and guidance to thrive.

Reporting to the Head of Curriculum Support, you will provide specialised support to students through small group interventions and in‑class assistance. The ideal candidate will be proactive, empathetic, and flexible, with a strong understanding of special educational needs and a passion for helping children reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the effective provision of teaching and learning for students with additional needs under the direction of the Head of Curriculum Support.
  • Plan and deliver high‑quality, differentiated lessons and interventions, particularly in literacy and other key areas.
  • Contribute to developing differentiated schemes of work and ensure inclusive teaching practices.
  • Maintain clear records of student progress and follow up on learning outcomes.
  • Manage and oversee a caseload of students on the SEND register, coordinating with parents and relevant external agencies.
  • Liaise with professionals such as speech and language therapists and educational psychologists.
  • Organise and supervise enrichment activities, school trips, and literacy interventions.
  • Provide input for Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and facilitate exam access arrangements for identified students.
  • Adhere to all school policies, especially regarding safeguarding, behaviour management, and inclusion.
  • Participate in performance management, training, and professional development activities.
  • Model the school’s RECIPE+ values in all interactions.
Qualifications & Experience
  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., Bachelor of Education, PGCE, or equivalent).
  • Specialist training or qualifications in SEN (highly desirable).
  • Proven experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
  • Experience in planning and delivering targeted interventions for individuals and small groups.
  • Experience liaising with parents and external support agencies.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong understanding of current SEN theory, practice, and statutory requirements.
  • Knowledge of strategies for supporting students with a range of learning difficulties (e.g., dyslexia, ADHD, ASD).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and caseload management skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
