Job description

We are looking for a highly capable and entrepreneurial Country Head to lead the launch and growth of a new aviation maintenance operation in Cambodia. This role will oversee the establishment of both line and base maintenance capabilities, ensuring full regulatory compliance, operational readiness, and commercial success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aviation MRO and experience in greenfield start-ups or new market entries.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the setup of the new MRO operation, including facility development, tooling, systems, and staffing.
• Liaise with Cambodian aviation authorities (SSCA) to secure necessary licenses and approvals.
• Develop operational procedures, safety protocols, and quality systems from the ground up.
• Recruit and train technical and support teams for both line and base maintenance.
• Oversee procurement and implementation of MRO software systems and infrastructure.
• Build relationships with airport authorities, airlines, and government stakeholders.
• Manage daily operations across line and base maintenance, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Monitor KPIs including turnaround time (TAT), reliability, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure full compliance with SSCA, EASA, FAA, and other relevant aviation standards.
• Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
• Lead commercial activities including client acquisition, contract negotiation, and service delivery.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance of the Cambodian entity.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aviation Management, SARR-66 or related field.
• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in aviation maintenance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven experience in launching or scaling MRO operations, preferably in emerging markets.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and certification processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Fluency in English; Khmer language skills are an advantage.
• Experience with both narrow-body and wide-body aircraft maintenance.
• Strong commercial acumen and client relationship management.
• Ability to work in a multicultural and dynamic environment.
