The Licensed Counsellor is responsible for providing professional counselling services to support students’ mental health, emotional well‑being, and personal development. The role also contributes to initiatives and programs that enhance the overall student experience, ensuring a supportive, inclusive, and positive campus environment.
Provide individual and group counselling sessions to students facing personal, academic, emotional, or career-related challenges.
Maintain strict confidentiality and ethical counselling practices in accordance with LKM regulations and institutional policies.
Identify at‑risk students and provide timely intervention, referrals, and follow‑up support where necessary.
Develop and conduct workshops, talks, and awareness campaigns on topics such as stress management, mental health, resilience, emotional well‑being, and self‑care.
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date counselling records, reports, and documentation in compliance with regulatory and institutional requirements.
Support students in navigating campus resources, support services, and available student development opportunities.
Collaborate with Student Affairs, Student Experience, Academic, and Compliance teams to ensure holistic student support.
Contribute to student orientation programs, wellness initiatives, and student development activities.
Provide guidance and support in cases involving student discipline, personal crises, or welfare concerns in collaboration with relevant departments.
Gather student feedback and contribute to continuous improvement of student support services and initiatives.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Counselling, Psychology, or a related discipline.
Must be a Licensed Counsellor registered with Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia (LKM).
Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.
High level of empathy, professionalism, and ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and confidentiality.
Experience in a higher education environment, student support services, or student engagement activities is an added advantage.
Ability to work collaboratively with academic, administrative, and student services teams.
