A leading construction firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Contract Manager to oversee contract management duties. Contract Manager (Construction & Engineering)

The Contract Manager is responsible for supporting the tender and project teams technically and administratively in his areas of expertise.

Responsible for offering professional opinion and advice to support tender and project teams in his areas of expertise.

Responsible for reviewing the terms and conditions of the contract with the Client from a contractual perspective and advising on the Company’s risk exposure.

Responsible for constantly reviewing the suitability of the Company’s standard Letter of Award, given changes in law affecting the industry.

Responsible for enhancing the staff’s knowledge of construction contracts and skill in contract administration.

Assist project teams in formulating the sub-contract award and supply chain strategies.

Assists project teams in overcoming any contractual disputes and avoiding a deterioration in the relationship between the parties.

Responsible for other duties and functions stipulated in the QMS documents.

Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Management.

Requirements

Must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a course related to engineering or quantity surveying or construction or building or construction management.

At least 10 years of relevant working experience in building/ engineering contract management and administration.

Familiar with local standard forms of contract, especially the JKR standard suite.
