A construction management company in Malaysia is seeking a Contract Manager to oversee commercial and contractual matters across multiple industrial projects. The role involves managing contract preparations, negotiations, and monitoring project costs. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree and 8–12 years of relevant experience in construction or MEP sectors. Strong analytical and negotiation skills are essential, alongside leadership capabilities to guide teams and ensure compliance with company regulations.
The Contract Manager will lead and oversee all contractual and commercial matters across multiple projects, from pre-contract tendering through post-award execution and final account settlement. This role plays a strategic part in commercial risk management, cost control, contract administration and stakeholder negotiation, ensuring projects are delivered in line with contractual obligations and business objectives.
Manage contract and commercial matters for high-impact industrial projects, including Data Centers, Semiconductor and FMCG sectors, supported by strong technical capabilities.
Oversee preparation, review and negotiation of main contracts, subcontracts, LOA and commercial terms.
Manage tendering processes including cost estimates, BOQ, value engineering and commercial submissions.
Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing, variations and claims.
Monitor project cost performance, cash flow, variations, claims and final accounts.
Advise project teams on contractual rights, obligations, risk exposure and mitigation strategies.
Lead contract correspondence and resolve commercial disputes with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
Ensure compliance with contract conditions, company policies and regulatory requirements.
Mentor and guide contract / QS / commercial team members.
Provide commercial input to management on project profitability and strategic decision-making.
Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 8–12 years’ experience in contract and commercial roles within construction or MEP industries.
Proven experience managing contracts for high-impact industrial projects.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes and commercial risk management.
Excellent negotiation, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
