Job Summary

The Contract & Commercial Manager (Transmission & Distribution) is responsible for managing all contractual, commercial, and financial aspects of projects within the T&D business. This role ensures that contracts are administered effectively, commercial risks are managed, and project financial performance aligns with company objectives throughout the project lifecycle. The role requires strong contract knowledge, commercial acumen, and close collaboration with internal teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors involved in T&D projects.

Key Responsibilities
1. Contract Management
  • Review, draft, negotiate, and administer contracts, subcontracts, and related agreements for T&D projects.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, statutory requirements, and company policies.
  • Manage contractual correspondence, variations, extensions of time (EOT), claims, and dispute matters.
  • Maintain accurate and complete contract documentation and records.
2. Commercial & Financial Management
  • Oversee project cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow for T&D projects.
  • Monitor commercial performance and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare, review, and certify progress claims, variations, and final accounts.
  • Support management with commercial reporting and financial analysis.
3. Risk Management & Compliance
  • Identify contractual, commercial, and financial risks specific to T&D works.
  • Develop mitigation strategies and provide advice on contract interpretation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and internal control requirements.
4. Stakeholder & Project Coordination
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, utilities authorities, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Support Project Managers and site teams on contractual and commercial matters.
  • Participate in negotiations, meetings, and project reviews.
5. Reporting & Documentation
  • Prepare regular contract and commercial reports for management review.
  • Maintain proper records of claims, variations, approvals, and correspondence.
  • Support audits and internal reviews related to T&D contracts and commercial matters.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in contract and commercial management, preferably within T&D, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of contract administration commercial practices.
  • Familiarity with standard forms of contracts (e.g., PAM, CIDB,IDIC or equivalent).
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
