Continuous Improvement & Process Engineering Manager

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager is responsible for leading and implementing operational excellence initiatives across the air conditioning manufacturing plant. This role will drive process optimization, quality improvement, and efficiency gains through Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies. The CI Manager will lead a team of four staff members and serve as a change agent to embed a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.

RESPONSIBILITY
  • Develop and execute the plant’s CI strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of four CI staff to deliver measurable improvements.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma practices to reduce waste, improve quality, and enhance productivity.
  • Identify, prioritize, and manage CI projects with clear ROI and performance metrics.
  • Conduct new and existing manufacturing process design and standardization.
  • Shop floor productivity and efficiency improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain) to streamline processes and eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Establish KPIs and dashboards to monitor CI initiatives and track progress.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • To lead a Moonshine Team quickly builds low‑cost, creative prototypes to turn Kaizen improvement ideas into practical solutions.
  • Provide coaching and training to plant staff on Lean and Six Sigma tools.
  • Report regularly to senior management on CI project outcomes and savings achieved.
  • Develop the annual CI and process improvement program budget (Opex & Capex).
  • Track, control and report project expenditures vs. approved budget.
REQUIREMENTS:

Education Background

  • Minimum: Six Sigma certification an added advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechatronics.
  • Mandatory Lean qualification or certification.
  • Attended Automation, cobot/robotic training.
  • Industrial 4.0/Smart Manufacturing exposure (IoT, MES, Digital twins).

Work Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in CI leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of leading Lean/Six Sigma projects with significant cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Experience in managing automation initiative alongside Lean/CI programs.
  • Experience in designing the manufacturing processes.
  • Hands‑on automation project leadership in implementing robotic arms in assembly lines, deploying cobot for human‑machine collaboration, deployment of AI camera to enhance productivity in manufacturing environment, integrating autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) in logistic.
  • Experience in HVAC or air conditioning industry an added advantage.

Knowledge/Skill

  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma tools.
  • Ability to develop CI roadmaps aligned with corporate strategy.
