Conference and Training Events Senior Manager (Johor, HRD Corp Claimable Events)

A fast-growing corporate learning and events organisation is expanding its footprint in Malaysia and Singapore. We are seeking a Conference and Training Events Senior Manager with deep experience in managing HRD Corp–claimable events to lead, develop, and execute large-scale training programs, summits, and professional learning experiences.

This is a pioneer, hands‑on position ideal for a candidate who is highly familiar with end-to-end HRD Corp event processes, from events creation and claimable eligibility to approval and reporting. The ideal candidate has a proven track record organising HRD Corp–claimable events with 50–200 participants, and is confident managing the full ecosystem—operations, compliance, marketing, partnerships, and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end planning, development, and execution of HRD Corp–claimable events, multi‑day programs, and corporate learning initiatives across Malaysia.

Design and deliver 4–6 major annual events such as summits, leadership forums, masterclasses, symposiums, and corporate training programs.

Ensure full HRD Corp compliance including module development, training provider requirements, claim ability structure, and post‑event submissions.

Identify market demand across Malaysian states and conceptualise high‑value, claimable events aligned with HRD Corp frameworks and corporate learning needs.

Build and manage strategic partnerships with corporates, HR leaders, government agencies, training providers, and industry associations.

Drive event profitability through sponsorships, ticketing, HRD Corp funding strategies, and partnership collaborations.

Oversee all operational components including content development, budgeting, pricing, marketing, logistics, and on‑site management.

Collaborate closely with Singapore HQ to co‑develop regional programs and maintain brand consistency.

Lead a small team and implement structured systems for reporting, performance measurement, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Event Management, Business, Marketing, Communications, or related disciplines

Minimum 5 years’ experience in corporate event management, training events, or HRD Corp–funded programs

Proven experience managing HRD Corp–claimable events with 50–200 participants

Strong understanding of HRD Corp funding frameworks, application processes, and compliance standards

Demonstrated ability to conceptualise, plan, and deliver multi‑day corporate learning events

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills

Entrepreneurial, resourceful, and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, cross‑border environment

Proficient in spoken and written English
