We are seeking a Component Engineer with a strong background in R&D, EMS, or NPI Operations to support component selection, qualification, and lifecycle management. The ideal candidate will possess deep electronic component knowledge and work closely with design, sourcing, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure product reliability, cost effectiveness, and supply continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage electronic component selection, approval, and qualification for new and existing products
- Support customers cost estimation and NPI (New Product Introduction) activities, including BOM review and risk assessment
- Provide technical guidance on passive, active, electromechanical, and semiconductor components
- Evaluate component lifecycle status (EOL, PCN, alternates, second sources) and recommend mitigation plans
- Collaborate with quality, and manufacturing data teams to resolve component-related issues
- Conduct component analysis, reliability assessment, when required
- Maintain and update component databases, AVL/AML, and technical documentation
- Support cost-reduction initiatives through component standardization and alternative sourcing
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or related field
- 3–6 years of experience in R&D, EMS, or NPI Operations
- Strong and in-depth knowledge of electronic components, including:
- Passive components (resistors, capacitors, inductors)
- Active components (ICs, transistors, diodes)
- Electromechanical components (connectors, relays, switches)
- Familiar with BOM management, PCN/EOL processes, and supplier qualification
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in fast-paced manufacturing or design environments
- Knowledge of industry standards (IPC, JEDEC, RoHS, REACH) is an advantage
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience in EMS manufacturing environment
- Hands‑on involvement in NPI from prototype to mass production
- Exposure to component approval systems or PLM tools
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards (ISO, ESD, IPC, etc.).
