Job summary

A global financial services firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Research Analyst to conduct in-depth equity research and analysis. This role requires strong financial modeling skills and advanced proficiency in Excel, alongside a passion for capital markets. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and have at least one year of experience in a research or analytical role. You will be responsible for collaborating with sales teams and improving analysis workflows using data analytics and AI tools.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Research, Investment, Banking, Consulting, or a similar analytical role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Passion for the capital market.
  • A corespoken course or capability in statistics, programming and use of AI/LLM.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct core research ranging from dissecting earnings releases and regulatory filings.
  • Perform financial modeling and detailed valuation work, drafting research notes.
  • Apply data analytics, automation and AI/LLM tools to improve quality of analysis.
  • Communicate with internal/external clients about stocks/sectors.
  • Collaborate with sales and trading teams to fulfill client requests.

Are you passionate about equity research and eager to achieve challenging goals? We are looking for a commercially minded and resourceful analyst, with strong data science attributes and the ability to thrive in a demanding, team-based research environment. As a Research Analyst, you will support the Head of Malaysia Equity Research, contributing to industry analysis and company‑specific coverage. The role is fast‑paced, rigorous and intellectually stimulating, requiring a balance of accounting, finance, quantitative skills and applied AI/LLM capability. You will be expected to think independently, execute with precision, and collaborate effectively to deliver timely, investable research outputs.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct core research ranging from dissecting earnings releases and regulatory filings to assessing relevant news events.
  • Perform financial modeling and detailed valuation work, drafting research notes and sector pieces.
  • Apply data analytics, automation and AI/LLM tools to improve quality of analysis, as well as workflows.
  • Communicate with internal/external clients and management teams about stocks/sectors.
  • Collaborate with sales and trading teams to fulfill client requests for market updates.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Research, Investment, Banking, Consulting, or a similar analytical role.
