The Commercial Executive is responsible for receiving tin concentrates from designated suppliers and acts as a key liaison between suppliers and MSC. This role manages the assay exchange process, oversees related commercial activities, and provides operational support to other Commercial Executives when required.
The position also ensures transparency in the supply chain through responsible mineral sourcing, compliance with Responsible Mineral Sourcing (RMS) protocols, due diligence procedures, and initiatives that promote accountability across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible Mineral Sourcing (RMS) & Supply Chain
- Plan and monitor all activities to ensure 100% compliance with RMS protocols and tools.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address supply chain risks.
- Manage supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance, resolving issues as they arise.
- Implement supply chain due diligence, traceability, and transparency procedures aligned with acceptable standards.
- Develop, manage, and support workflows to ensure alignment with RMS audit assessments.
- Collaborate with external consultants on the implementation of commercial systems and conduct end‑user training.
Commercial Operations & Daily Operations
- Oversee day-to-day operations including shipment monitoring, assay exchange, payment release scheduling, and pricing in the KLTM market.
- Supervise all commercial operations including imports, contract finalisation, tin releasing, and payment processes.
- Communicate and liaise with suppliers to maintain strong business relationships and secure repeated supply.
- Prepare and submit commercial budgets and monetary forecasts for annual budgeting purposes.
- Report commercial performance and operations to the Head of Department.
- Work closely with the Treasury department to improve cash flow management.
- Liaise with government authorities on licensing, permits, import matters, and SST.
- Ensure full compliance with contractual agreements and requirements.
- Coordinate with internal departments including Production, Receiving, and Lab.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Manage all commercial matters related to smelting contracts.
- Participate in all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs established by the Company.
Job Requirements
- Minimum Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Operations Management, or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of relevant working experience.
- Strong performance orientation and ability to work under pressure.
- Ambitious, resourceful, proactive, and self‑motivated.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and positive work attitude.
- Good understanding of international and domestic trade.
- Strong skills in negotiation, communication, cost analysis, and pricing.
