Job summary

A leading recruitment firm in Malaysia is urgently seeking an experienced professional to lead commercial negotiations in their client's data centre projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in QS, engineering, or construction management, particularly in critical environments. Responsibilities include reviewing commercial terms, ensuring compliance with laws, and drafting vendor agreements. Candidates must possess strong negotiation and analytical skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Qualifications

Due to expansion of our client's business,we continue to look for suitable candidates to work at our client's data centre site. Write to us if you are an individual who has experience in the activities listed below, and is keen to take up new challenges!

Responsibilities
  • Lead the review, assessment, and approval of commercial terms and conditions in project and maintenance tenders from both clients and vendors.
  • Ensure all tender submissions meet contractual, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify contractual risks and implement mitigation strategies prior to bid submission.
  • Draft, review, and amend vendor and subcontractor agreements to safeguard company interests.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers to secure favourable terms.
  • Ensure agreements align with operational requirements and corporate objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with internal legal, finance, project, and procurement teams.
  • Ensure contracts comply with Malaysian laws, regulations, and government requirements.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard contract forms such as FIDIC and other industry-specific agreements.
  • Stay updated on legislative and industry changes affecting contractual terms.
Requirements
  • Degree/Diploma with at least 7 years of experience in QS / engineering / construction management, preferably in data centre or critical environment.
  • Strong understanding of FIDIC or others and Malaysian regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven negotiation, analytical, and risk management skills.
  • Positive proactive attitude and ethical behaviour.
  • Good leadership and team player with ability to work independently and resolve challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaborative and people management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
