Job summary

A leading construction firm in Malaysia seeks a Clerk of Work for monitoring and inspecting on-site construction activities. The ideal candidate will supervise daily construction, ensure compliance with specifications, and maintain records of project documents. Candidates should have a diploma/degree in a related field, at least 3 years of experience, and be proficient in both Bahasa Malaysia and English. This position requires a full-time commitment at the construction site.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in property development or construction.
  • Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English; Mandarin proficiency is an advantage.
  • Willing to work full-time at the construction site.

Job description

We are looking for suitable candidate which responsible for monitoring and inspecting construction activities on-site to ensure compliance with contract specifications, approved drawings, quality standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.

  • 1x Clerk of Work (Mechanical & Electrical)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and monitor daily construction activities to ensure high‑quality workmanship and compliance with approved plans and specifications.
  • Ensure all materials used and work performed meet required quality standards and contractual specifications.
  • Inspect and document construction progress; identify and report any defects, non‑conformance, or irregularities to the superior and relevant consultants.
  • Verify contractor’s site progress reports and related documentation for accuracy.
  • Witness and validate monthly work progress claims submitted by the contractor.
  • Assist in the review and assessment of contractor claims and supporting documents.
  • Maintain proper records of site activities, inspections, and all relevant project documents in an organized and timely manner.
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned by the management from time to time.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Building, Civil & Structural Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or other related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in property development or the construction industry.
  • Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English; proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage.
  • Willing to work full‑time at the construction site.
