Job Summary
The Civil Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all civil and structural maintenance works within the facility, ensuring compliance with JKR standards, specifications, and safety requirements. This role involves supervising maintenance teams, coordinating repair works, inspecting building conditions, and ensuring all activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and in accordance with contractual and regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily civil and structural maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and minor construction works.
- Ensure all works comply with JKR standards, guidelines, and technical specifications.
- Conduct site inspections to assess the condition of building structures, walls, roofs, roads, drainage, and other civil elements.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to ensure minimal disruption to facility operations.
- Verify work orders, material usage, and workmanship to ensure quality and cost control.
- Coordinate with the facility management team, engineers, and other supervisors (mechanical, electrical, etc.) for integrated maintenance operations.
- Liaise with JKR representatives, consultants, and contractors on inspection, reporting, and compliance matters.
- Prepare reports, work completion records, and documentation as required by JKR and company procedures.
- Enforce site safety rules and ensure all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) regulations.
- Identify and recommend improvement measures to enhance the durability and performance of civil structures.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in civil maintenance or construction supervision, preferably within facility management or government projects.
- Good knowledge of JKR standards, specifications, and maintenance reporting formats.
- Strong technical understanding of civil, structural, and architectural maintenance works.
- Able to read and interpret drawings, plans, and technical documents.
- Good communication and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate site teams and contractors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with maintenance management systems (CMMS is an advantage).
- Possess a valid CIDB Green Card and awareness of site safety practices.
