Job description

Oversee and manage the maintenance and repair of building infrastructure, including structural components, roofing, flooring, and facades.

Conduct regular inspections and assessments of facilities to ensure safety and compliance with local regulations and standards.

Plan and execute facilities improvement projects, including renovations, upgrades, and expansions.

Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.

Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.

Provide technical guidance and support for facilities-related issues, including structural problems, system failures, and safety concerns.

Ensure that all engineering practices align with local building codes and industry standards.

Ensure facilities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Implement and oversee safety protocols and procedures.

Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential hazards.

Develop and manage maintenance schedules for all facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.

Coordinate with maintenance teams and service providers to address and resolve issues efficiently.

Prepare and manage budgets for facility maintenance and improvement projects.

Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.

Prepare reports and documentation for management review and regulatory compliance.

Work closely with facility managers, building occupants, and other stakeholders to address needs and concerns.

Communicate effectively with team members and external partners to ensure smooth operations.

The Incumbent:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

Previous experience in facilities management, construction, or civil engineering is preferred.

Strong problem-solving abilities, project management skills, knowledge of building codes and standards, and proficiency in relevant software (e.g., CAD, facilities management systems).

Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., Professional Engineer license) may be required or preferred.

Proficiency in English and Malay is often preferred, given the local working environment.
