Civil Engineer / Assistant Field Technician

Pinnacle Geotechnical Testing (M) Sdn Bhd – Petaling

Reporting to the project team, these full-time positions at Asia Pile Testing Services (M) Sdn Bhd offer excellent opportunities to be part of a dynamic and growing construction services company.

Civil Engineer – You will be responsible for overseeing and executing on-site pile testing activities, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, and liaising with clients on technical matters.

Assistant Field Technician – You will support the engineers and field technicians in performing on-site testing, equipment handling, and data recording.

What You’ll Be Doing

Civil Engineer

Lead on-site pile testing activities and ensure work follows method statements and safety rules.

Set up and configure test instrumentation on piles (e.g., gauges/sensors, frames, data loggers) with the Assistant’s help.

Verify calibration/status of instruments and perform pre-test checks.

Execute tests, monitor readings in real time, and ensure data quality.

Record and document measurements, observations, and any anomalies in field logs.

Coordinate on site with client/contractor reps for access, sequencing, and safety.

Oversee teardown and proper care of equipment after tests.

Assistant Field Technician

Prepare site and equipment (load/unload, positioning, cabling, tools).

Assist in installing gauges/sensors and mounting frames under the Engineer’s direction.

Operate test equipment as instructed (e.g., triggering readings, basic controls).

Perform basic checks, housekeeping, and maintain safe work zones.

Help with data capture/entry and photo documentation during tests.

Support teardown, cleaning, and routine care of equipment.

Handle simple logistics/coordination tasks as directed (site access, materials, etc.).

What We’re Looking For

Civil Engineer

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

Experience in site work, pile testing, or construction supervision is an advantage (fresh grads welcome to apply).

Strong understanding of engineering principles and willingness to apply them in field testing.

Practical, detail-oriented, and able to troubleshoot instrumentation or setup issues on site.

Good communication skills to coordinate with clients, contractors, and team members.

Physically fit and willing to work outdoors at construction sites (travel required).

Assistant Field Technician

Relevant technical diploma or certificate (SPM/STPM with related experience also considered).

Experience in construction testing, inspection, or quality control is an advantage.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.

Willingness to learn and adapt to new testing methods.

Effective teamwork and communication skills.

Physically fit and willing to work outdoors at construction sites (travel required).
