A leading environmental solutions company in Malaysia is seeking a motivated Chemical Engineer to oversee the operations of Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in Chemical Engineering, certifications in CePIETSO, and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include managing daily operations, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Chemical Engineer to manage and optimise the operation of Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants (WTP/WWTP). The role involves overseeing daily operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of pollution control systems to ensure regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and safety standards.
Plan, create, manage, execute, review and improvement on WWTP and WTP operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, servicing, repair of related equipment, ensuring safety, environmental and compliance with regulations and with noncompliance issues.
Enthusiastic willingness for solving challenges related equipment and system troubleshooting, maintenance, spare parts, adequate documentation and operational optimisation.
Oversee and notation recording device indications and optimise settings to ensure the pollution control system operates as intended.
Plan, creation, manage, execution, review, continuous monitoring and improvement by conducting performance monitoring activities which involve sampling, in situ measurements and basic process control laboratory tests.
Able to manage and lead sludge collection, transportation, disposal in the premises.
Good support and communication skills to superior and team members.
Passionate for perform findings and corrective actions for risk of pollution control minimise the upset situation.
Urge for improvement in vendor, supplier sourcing for optimise expenses and performance of plant.
Knowledge and skills on general tools, equipment, methods, safe work practices in the operation and routine maintenance of the mechanical and basic electrical components of the pollution control system.
Demonstrate strong work ethics, professionalism, and a positive attitude towards teamwork and workplace responsibilities.
Possess at least a Diploma in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
Certified in CePIETSO-PCP or CePIETSO-BP.
Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in WWTP, WTP, or pollution control system operations.
Experience in maintenance activities and cost tracking / expense monitoring will be an added advantage.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement mindset.
