Established in 2002, Studio Climb is a pre‑production studio specializing in comprehensive design services such as conceptual illustrations, conceptual design service for character, environment, prop and matte painting.

Studio Climb also includes idea‑generation and visual development, story boarding and directing for film, animated features and game cinematic services.

In 2013, TRANS PICTURES, a China‑incorporated company was established by STUDIO CLIMB to partner with a China media industry; focusing on developing, producing and commercializing animation and live action movie project. Apart from that, TRANSPICTURES owns as well as co‑owns its titles IP; produce titles for specific third parties and collaborate with international marketing and merchandising companies with the aim to increase its IP commercial value.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Character Modeling Artist creates and modifies characters to suit the needs of a particular animation production project. Takes direction from the project's creative leadership: the Director, the Production Designer, and the Creative Director.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• The Character Modeling Artist is responsible for creation, revision, maintenance and support of the digital character assets, responding to guidance and review notes from the director as well as creative and technical supervisors.
• Constructing the shapes of digital character models in a 3D modeling system such as Maya and converting such models for use in animation system.
• Digital assets must meet standards and specifications with respect to appearance and aesthetics, user interface, performance, and robustness.
• The Character Modeling Artist must support usersother Technical Directors and Animators) who make use of the digital assets.

REQUIREMENTS

• Visual demonstration (Quicktime or web link preferred) of animation that illustrates visual storytelling, believable expressions, emotional states, weight, physics, balance, appeal, entertainment, clear timing, and staging.
• 2 years production experience.
• Proficiency in Maya or equivalent software preferred but not required.
• Background in traditional hand‑drawn, computer, or stop‑motion animation.
