Campus Hire - Manufacturing Digital Solutions Engineer

Position located at Menara ExxonMobil, Kuala Lumpur – entry level.

What you will do

If successful, you will represent the Business Unit and provide effective above-site manufacturing digital and data optimization support. You will leverage central work processes and tools to certify manufacturing data reliability and accuracy, and identify continuous improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiency. Developing strong relationships with site stakeholders and delivering quality work outputs is key.

Key deliverables include:

  • Provides L3 and L4 Uniformance operations support to Manufacturing Sites, including PHD, DV (XHQ), Business Applications and other plant computing related technologies; support ongoing work processes, upgrades and projects for refineries and chemical plants.
  • Optimize Uniformance tool and features (including reporting) for Business teams’ daily decision‑making.
  • Digitalize Manufacturing Environment (wireless technologies, electronic logbooks, etc.) by working closely with Manufacturing Engineering Division for digital opportunities – consultancy, requirements gathering, testing, rollout and sustenance.
  • Application consultancy and support across a broad portfolio of applications spanning desktop, client‑server, and enterprise platforms at site.
  • Data visualization: work with business teams across Refinery and Chemical locations to identify and define how data visualization can deliver business value, and deliver appropriate solutions.
  • Partnership with business and key contacts; primary interface for remote engineering support with site engineers/SIT contacts to meet priorities.
  • Define and implement initiatives, upgrades and sustenance – interface with technical (EMIT) IT personnel and business lines.
  • Maintain strong working relationship with Manufacturing Control Systems on technology roadmap and upgrades related to the Uniformance system.
  • Interface with and provide input to Global Network and Supervisor on issues and opportunities.
About you

Skills and qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
  • Experience with database management (SQL), Excel macros and other digital deliverables such as data visualization, analytics and automation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Troubleshooting skills, innovative and analytical thinking.
  • Intellectual rigor, strong drive and desire to lead change.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural global team.
  • Understanding of operational aspects such as high availability, monitoring, security, and robustness.
