A leading technology firm in Southeast Asia is seeking a proactive Buyer & Logistics Executive to manage procurement and logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management and at least 3 years of experience in logistics. Responsibilities include liaising with suppliers, managing shipment processes, and utilizing ERP systems like Epicor and Acumatica. Strong communication skills in English, Chinese, and Malay are essential. This position is based in Malaysia, Penang, Seberang Perai.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer & Logistics Executive to join our Southeast Asia team. This role is pivotal in managing procurement and logistics operations, ensuring timely delivery of materials, and maintaining smooth supply chain processes. The ideal candidate will excel in planning, coordination, and communication, with strong ERP system expertise and flexibility to adapt to dynamic business needs.
Liaise with suppliers across Asia to confirm shipping dates and expedite deliveries when necessary.
Follow up on pending shipments and resolve any delays or discrepancies promptly.
Negotiate with suppliers for better lead times and favorable terms.
Plan and schedule production requirements to meet customer demand and internal timelines.
Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to avoid shortages or delays.
Analyze supplier performance and recommend improvements for cost efficiency and reliability.
Coordinate end-to-end shipment processes, including documentation, customs clearance, and compliance with trade regulations.
Prepare invoices, packing lists, and arrange bookings with customer-designated forwarders.
Recommend optimal shipping methods based on cost, speed, and reliability.
Update shipment status and tracking information in ERP systems and share timely updates with management.
Utilize Epicor and Acumatica ERP systems for procurement, logistics tracking, and reporting.
Maintain accurate data entry and generate reports for shipment status, supplier performance, and cost analysis.
Provide weekly shipment updates and performance reports to internal teams and management.
Calculate and report supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD) metrics and Purchase Price Variance (PPV).
Communicate effectively across departments to ensure alignment of priorities and timelines.
Handle urgent requests and shifting priorities with professionalism and efficiency.
Be willing to work extended hours or weekends when required to meet critical deadlines.
Support additional tasks related to logistics and procurement as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Familiar with logistic, minimum 3 years’ experience.
Strong knowledge of HS Code classification and customs compliance (US, China, Southeast Asia).
Experience in Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW) licensing and trade compliance.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (Epicor, Acumatica).
Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication skills in English, Chinese, and Malay.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Willingness to travel overseas for training and supplier visits.
