Key Responsibilities
- Procures assigned products, raw materials (including resins), transfer orders, and services with consideration to cost, quality, delivery, reliability, and total landed cost
- Creates, releases, and manages purchase orders and transfer orders in the ERP/MRP system to support production schedules
- Monitors open orders and, with the approval and direction of the Materials Manager, expedites materials as needed to prevent production interruptions
- Communicates timely and effectively with internal customers regarding order status, changes, delays, and resolutions while maintaining data integrity
- Determines appropriate procurement methods, including direct purchase, contracts, or competitive bids
- Prepares purchase orders, bid requests, and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies and approval limits
Resin & Raw Material Purchasing3>
- Manages resin purchasing activities for the assigned facility, including demand planning coordination, supplier releases, and delivery scheduling
- Monitors open resin purchase orders and manages on‑time delivery of materials
- Communicates circumstances when vendor is not meeting agreed upon terms
- Coordinates with Planning and Operations to adjust resin orders based on forecast changes, production needs, and inventory targets
Supplier & Contract Support
- Maintains effective working relationships with approved suppliers to ensure consistent performance and service levels
- Documents and maintains supplier delivery and quality performance to support the supplier scorecard and overall supplier base management
- Addresses defective or non‑conforming materials by working with Quality, Operations, and Suppliers to identify root causes and corrective actions
Inventory & Data Management
- Maintains accurate procurement records including purchases, costs, deliveries, inventory levels, and supplier performance metrics
- Supports inventory optimization initiatives by balancing service levels, turns, and working capital requirements
- Ensures purchasing data accuracy to support reporting, audits, and financial reconciliation
Compliance & Collaboration
- Maintains working knowledge of company quality, environmental, and regulatory standards related to procurement and materials
- Collaborates with Quality, Environmental, and Safety teams to ensure materials meet all applicable requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years of purchasing or buying experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and standard purchasing processes
- Strong communication, organization, and follow‑up skills
- Experience with resin or raw material purchasing in a manufacturing environment
- Experience managing transfer orders between manufacturing facilities
- Familiarity with inventory control principles and production planning concepts
Work Environment + Language Requirements
- Global remote position
- Requires at least 3 hours of overlap with U.S. Central Time each day
- Minimal or no travel
- Fluency in the English language; written and verbal proficiency (B2 level minimum on CEFR scale)
- Reports to a U.S.-based Procurement Leadership
