JOB DESCRIPTION – Solar Energy Sales Specialist

Job Summary

The Solar Energy Sales Specialist is responsible for driving business growth by managing pre-tender activities, developing client relationships, preparing proposals, and supporting the Solar Project Team throughout the project lifecycle. This role ensures smooth coordination between clients, internal teams, and stakeholders to achieve successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
1. Pre-Tender & Business Development
  • Identify new business opportunities and potential tender openings in the solar energy industry.
  • Assist in pre-tender preparation including data collection, client requirements, site information, and preliminary technical inputs.
  • Coordinate with the engineering team to prepare costing, technical proposals, project timelines, and tender documentation.
  • Support feasibility studies, preliminary sizing, and basic system configurations before tender submission.
  • Ensure all tender documents are complete, accurate, and submitted on schedule.
2. Sales & Client Communication
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients during pre-sales and tender stages.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, vendors, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Present company capabilities, solar solutions, and project value propositions to clients.
  • Conduct follow-up discussions, client clarification meetings, and negotiation support.
  • Ensure clear communication flow between clients and internal project teams.
3. Project Coordination & Internal Support
  • Work closely with the Solar Project Manager, Engineers, and Procurement to ensure seamless project handover after award.
  • Support the solar team by monitoring project milestones, documentation, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist in coordinating internal meetings, progress updates, and client communications during execution phase.
  • Resolve client queries promptly and elevate issues to the project team when necessary.
  • Ensure all project activities comply with company SOPs and industry standards.
4. Market Insights & Reporting
  • Monitor solar market trends, competitor offerings, and pricing updates.
  • Provide regular sales reports, pipeline updates, and tender status reports to management.
  • Contribute ideas to improve sales strategy, tender competitiveness, and customer satisfaction.
