Role Purpose
The Business Development Officer (BDO) is responsible for driving overall business growth across the South Kerala region. This is a senior field role with complete ownership of franchise performance, sales growth, market expansion, credit control, technical coordination, contractor and applicator development, and leadership support to franchise sales teams. The BDO works closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure sustainable regional growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Regional Business Ownership: End‑to‑end responsibility for business growth across South Kerala.
- Sales Growth & Target Achievement: Drive primary and secondary sales through structured planning and execution.
- Franchise Management: Handle existing franchises and ensure performance improvement and policy compliance.
- New Franchise Development: Identify, onboard, and stabilize new franchise partners.
- Market Expansion: Identify untapped markets and growth opportunities within the region.
- Contractor & Applicator Development: Build, train, and retain a strong contractor and applicator network.
- Training & Capability Building: Conduct regular product, process, and application training programs.
- Project & Site Support: Provide on‑site sales and technical support for key projects and enquiries.
- Credit Control & Collections: Ensure timely collections, monitor credit limits, and control outstanding balances.
- Cross‑Functional Coordination: Coordinate with Technical, QA, Projects, Accounts, and Operations teams.
- Technical Query Resolution: Resolve franchise technical queries related to product selection and application.
- Market Intelligence & Reporting: Track competitor activities and submit regular business reports.
- Team Leadership: Guide franchise sales executives, set targets, and review performance.

Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- 3–7 years of experience in sales / business development (construction chemicals, waterproofing, or building materials preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and coordination skills
- Ability to independently manage a large territory
- Strong analytical and reporting capability
- Willingness to travel extensively across South Kerala
- Valid two‑wheeler and four‑wheeler driving licenses are mandatory
