Job description

To lead business development and sales activities for the Company’s solar-as-a-service offering in Malaysia including lead generation, offer generation, negotiation and contract closing across multiple industrial and large commercial target segments.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Identify, target, contact potential customers that fit the Company's criteria
  2. Engage, promote and convince customers of the benefits of the solution
  3. Support Company-organised events and seminars with audiences of potential target customers
  4. Participate in trade events with a view to network and generate leads
  5. Generate offers for long-term rooftop solar PV solutions for industrial and large commercial customers
  6. Play an active role in long-term agreement negotiations
  7. Build relationships with key decision makers from the clients’ organisations to understand their process and requirements
  8. Support Engineering and Project teams where required to ensure project success
  9. Help, from time to time, in liaising with competent authorities in terms of project licensing and permits
  10. Play an active role in the regional BD team by sharing feedback, intelligence and contributing to continuous improvements
  11. Actively use and keep updated Company's CRM tool
  12. Support in existing customer management to ensure their satisfaction

Requirements
  1. 3 - 7 years’ solar experience in business-to-business sales or business development experience
  2. Malaysian national with fluent command of spoken and written English
  3. Able to speak other languages besides English is a plus
  4. Have a good understanding of Power Purchase Agreements (PPA)
  5. Outstanding interpersonal skills in a sales context
  6. Good analytical and project management skills
  7. Candidate must be able to work independently and efficiently under tight deadlines
  8. Ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced, high-growth working environment
  9. Ability to generate ideas for problem solving and decision making
  10. Energy, drive and resilience associated with long sales cycles
  11. Communicative enthusiasm for a service that will make a difference to the world and its environment
  12. Ability to relate to multiple functions, roles and seniority levels in customer organisations from facility management, procurement and also MD/GM levels
  13. Demonstrated track record and networks in relevant industries
  14. Solid ability to understand, convey, discuss and argue key contractual aspects of commercial agreements
  15. Must own a car with a valid driver’s licence to visit clients
